What are the benefits of compression tights?

Compression tights offer a range of health benefits, including:

  - improved blood circulation

  - reduced fatigue

  - decreased swelling

Compression garments, such as compression tights, gently compress the blood vessels near the surface of your legs, an action that helps the blood travel back to your heart. Not only does this improved circulation benefit your heart, but it also increases muscle oxygenation, or the amount of oxygen available to your muscles. This then gives your muscles more energy to use, reducing fatigue.

By improving circulation and applying pressure, compression tights also reduce inflammation by preventing fluid from building up. Combining this reduction in inflammation with less muscle fatigue means that your shift in the sky will come with much less pain.

When should you use compression tights?

Compression tights can benefit anyone interested in reducing pain and inflammation by improving blood circulation. Those who benefit the most, though, are individuals who sit for extended periods of time or are on their feet all day.

Sitting makes it harder for blood to travel through the body, but compression tights—and their ability to improve blood circulation—can help.

Those who work on their feet should also use compression tights, as they can help reduce the fatigue and inflammation you get in your ankles and legs from standing all day.

Furthermore, those on an airplane can benefit from compression tights. This is because the reduced air pressure on the plane causes you to bring in less oxygen when you breathe, slowing your blood circulation. Compression tights help combat this effect by aiding blood circulation.

How do graduated compression tights differ from regular compression tights?

Graduated compression tights exert the greatest amount of compression at the ankle, with the amount of compression decreasing as the tights goes up the leg. This design encourages blood to flow up to the heart instead of down into the foot.

In comparison, regular compression tights have the same degree of compression at each section.

Are Skytights compression tights designed with graduated compression?

Yes, Skytights compression tights are graduated compression tights, which means they apply the highest compression at the ankle and gradually decrease it as they move up the leg.

What is the compression level offered by Skytights?

At Skytights, we currently offer two levels of graduated compression tights. Our CabinComfort compression tights feature a compression level of 8-11 mmHg, while our JetSet Comfort tights offer a compression level of 6-8 mmHg. Additionally, we are diligently working on introducing higher levels of graduated compression to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Are Skytights Compression Tights medical grade compression tights?

No, Skytights are not medical-grade compression tights, meaning they do not require a prescription from your physician.

Medical-grade compression tights are considered to be any tights offering compression above 20 mmHg. Skytights offer anywhere from 6-11 mmHg, depending on the tights chosen, so they provide the benefits of compression without requiring a prescription.

Where are Skytights compression tights manufactured?

Skytights pantyhose are crafted in Castel Goffredo, a small town in Italy, situated in the province of Mantua, in Lombardy, close to Lake Garda. This tiny town is long renowned for its expertise in producing and manufacturing textiles, especially hosiery. Our Italian factories uphold the strictest codes of conduct, placing the highest standards on technology innovation, product certification and sustainability.

How do I select my perfect size?

Choosing the right or wrong size can shape your hosiery experience. A too-small size results in significant fit issues such as sagging between the legs and skin irritation—plus your tights will likely tear more quickly due to increased fabric stretching. At the same time, a size that’s too large can create problems like drooping and bunching.

Skytights offers five sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. To eliminate the guesswork when shopping for our tights, we offer a detailed yet easy-to-use Size Chart to guide you in quickly finding your perfect fit. If you discover you’re in-between sizes, we suggest you select the larger size to prevent any unnecessary stretching or pulling of your pantyhose, which could create a run.
